In June of 2007, David, his wife and their daughter Melissa, lost their son and brother, Daniel Lee Katz, to a drug overdose. Following Daniel’s death David, Gail and Melissa founded the Save A Star Drug Awareness Foundation, to educate parents and children to the risks and unpublished dangers of prescription drugs.
The foundation has received enormous success in just a few shorts months, including partnering with the DEA Educational Foundation, in Washington D.C. Together they will bring their drug awareness educational program to millions of people in a cross-country mobile exhibit.
